Literacy is a fundamental human right and the basis for any individual's ability to learn. Literacy skills allow students to seek out information, explore subjects in-depth and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. At École Edwards, we believe that all students can become literate. We believe that we need to educate all students to proficiency and beyond to prepare them for success and become responsible citizens. Our goal is to instill a joy of reading and writing in our students, using authentic and meaningful practices. We will provide our students with research-based instructional practices, use a common, high-quality, balanced assessment system, and a tiered system of support for all students.
