Terry Fox Run – Friday, September 19, 2025
We are excited to announce that our annual Terry Fox Run for cancer research will take place on Friday, September 19.
At Edwards, we are incredibly proud of our longstanding commitment to supporting cancer research. Over the past 23 years, our school community has raised over $100,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Last year alone, we contributed more than $3,000!
This year, we will be accepting donations online and at school until Thursday, October 5. If possible, we encourage students to contribute a “Toonie for Terry.”
Event Details:
• Students will attend a kickoff assembly before their scheduled run time.
• Please ensure your child wears comfortable outdoor shoes and is dressed appropriately for the weather.
• Students are encouraged to wear gold/yellow to support childhood cancer awareness or a Terry Fox tshirt on the day of the run.
Each student will receive a sticker that reads:
“Dear Terry / Cher Terry, I dedicate my run to / Je dédie ma course à…”
Students may write the name(s) of someone they wish to honor during the run. Once completed, stickers should be returned to their teacher with the backing still intact and your child’s name written on the back. Stickers will be worn on the day of the event.
Donation Options:
Families who wish to support the Terry Fox Foundation can donate in one of two ways:
1. Online Donation (Preferred):
Visit our school’s fundraising page:
https://schools.terryfox.ca/98273
Tax receipts are issued instantly for online donations.
2. Cash or Cheque:
Donations will be accepted at school until Friday, October 3.
• Cheques should be made payable to The Terry Fox Foundation.
• To receive a tax receipt, please complete the pledge form sent home. Tax receipts cannot be issued without a completed form.
For student safety, we strongly encourage families to donate online. This method is secure, convenient, and allows extended family and friends to contribute easily. Students should not go door-to-door to collect donations.
Thank you for your continued support in promoting this meaningful event.
Together, we can help beat cancer.
Thank you for your support,
